Fred Baker,86, died Thursday at his home on at 611 10th St., in Mena.

The funeral was held Monday morning at the Mena First Christian Church with Rev. Bill Grove officiating. Interment was in Six Mile Cemetery at Hatfield under direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.

Mr. Baker was born May 27, 1890 in Ontario, Canada. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Baker & was united in marriage to Miss Ruby Toman Oct. 5, 1940 at Reno, Nevada.

Mrs. Baker preceded him in death Dec. 6, 1970. Baker owned & operated a lumber company in California before coming to Hatfield in 1953.

He was a member of the First Christian Church. Survivors are one son, Mervin Baker, Grass Valley, Calif.; four daughters, Kathleen McCann, Paradise, Calif., Ruth; Blocker, Grass Valley, Calif.; Isabel Whittlesey, Grass Valley Calif.; one brother Alvin Baker, Saskatoon Saskatchewan; one sister Eunice Fleming, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

7 A Celebration of Life will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday April 7, at the Renaissance at Narrows Glen, Tacoma, Washington, 253-564-4770, for Pearl Lones, 94, who died peacefully in her sleep, March 29. She died like she lived - on her own terms - with a suitcase packed and ready to go on her next trip. A retired teacher, she had a talent for motivating even the most difficult students. Pearl Lones is survived by her four children and three grandchildren. She will be remembered for her sense of adventure, optimism and creativity. Pear will be missed by all.

14 Anderson, Mary E..... Peacefully at Albright Manor, Beamsville, ON on July 11, 2014 in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Calvin G. Anderson (1989). Dear mother of Norman Anderson and his wife Julie of Port Elgin and Russell Anderson and his wife Mary Lou Duffy of Grimsby. Kind sister of Hazel McCreath of Goderich. Also loved by her eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Predeceased by a brother Melville Whalley and a sister Norma McMurphy. 19 April 19, 1925 - August 20, 2008 Donald Perry of Calgary passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at the age of 83 years. Donald was active in the Navy during World War II before acquiring his law degree in Winnipeg, MB. He was employed with the Federal Business Development Bank in Winnipeg and transferred to Calgary with FBDB as their Senior Solicitor. Don had a love for animals of all kinds especially his numerous furry dog companions throughout the years. His great wit and humour will be greatly missed. Don is survived by his daughters, Pamela (Don) Perry-Globa of Lethbridge, and Debra Reimer; granddaughters, Kelli, Kaidy (Chris) Morgan, all of Calgary, and by his son Michael James (Bonnie) of Carstairs. Don was predeceased by his sisters, Wilma Brown of Ontario and Doris Perry of Winnipeg. 22 At St. Mary's Hospital, on Monday, March 22, 1999, following a lengthy illness, Raymond Toman, of Winston Park Retirement Home, Kitchener and formerly of Cambridge (Preston), age 83 years. Mr. Toman was a longtime employee of Clare Brothers before retirement. He was a member of Doon Valley Golf Club. He was also a volunteer fireman with the Preston Fire Department. Loving father of Virginia (Ginny) and her husband Bob Hibbs of Kitchener. Survived by three grandchildren, Kelley and her husband Ed, Sheri, Kimberley and her husband Robert; brother of Norm Toman and his wife Kay of Kitchener, Ruth Bowman and her husband Valtin of Cambridge (Preston), Marlene Bowman and her husband Gord of Kitchener. 28 CAMPBELL, Betty - of Hanover, passed away peacefully at Hanover and District Hospital, on Friday, October 05, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. She was 79. Born in Hanover to William and Irma (nee Bluhm) Bowes. Betty was employed with the Royal Bank until her retirement. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #130 and St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Betty was an avid card player and enjoyed lawn bowling. Survived by Daughter Brenda (Martin) Echlin of Erin, son William (Brenda) Campbell of Hanover, grandchildren Brandon and Bowe Campbell and Jordyn Echlin, great grandmother of Aurora, sisters in law Shirley Bowes of Listowel, Lois Bowes of Hanover, brother in law Robert Seim of RR# 3 Hanover. Predeceased by her husband Burton Campbell, two brothers Donald and James Bowes and a sister Mary Seim.
